Prelude
Lighting the Christ Candle Do not be afraid, for see- I am bringing you good news of great joy. To us is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: You will find the baby, wrapped in swaddling clothes, and lying in a manger. Tonight we light the Christ Candle to symbolize God’s promise fulfilled. For a Child has been born to us. A Son has been given to us. Authority rests upon his shoulders, and he is named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. The Sacrament of Communion* The Invitation, Words of Institution, Great Prayer of Thanksgiving, Distribution of the Elements Prayer After Communion All glory to you, great God, for the gift of your Son, whom you sent to save us. With singing angels, let us praise your name, and tell the earth his story, that all may believe, rejoice, and bow down, acknowledging your love through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen. Blessing Go now, singing a song to the God of our salvation. Sing of God’s mighty acts and proclaim God’s glory. Join the heavenly chorus and sing: Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth, peace.” Amen. Postlude *Those worshiping at home may partake of the elements of bread and juice as available.
